Help identifying old Altec speakers?
Hello! I am hoping to get some help identifying (and perhaps evaluating) a pair of old Altec home speakers. They are in cases with elaborate iron fleur-de-lis style grills, 28" high by 27" wide and 18" deep. But aside from an Altec label on the front right corner of each speaker and "Altec Lansing" on the back control knob, there doesn't appear to be any identifying marks or model numbers on the front, back, or bottom of either speaker. They were purchased at a garage sale from a woman who said her father (a professional concert musician in NYC) had had them installed in his home in Jersey. Any thoughts about what model speaker these might be?
Thanks very much!
Mark

Egads! 70s Spanish colonial style run amok.
Never my favorite style. I lived on the Mexican border when those were built, they would have fit right in. Nothing against the speakers, you understand, just the style.
Nice garage sale find, congratulation.

Hi, all -- Thanks for the quick ID on the speakers and the link to the technical spec sheet on Lansing Heritage, they do indeed appear to be the Flamenco 848As.
Best,
Mark

So Mark, what are you going to do with them? Got room to keep them? They can be a lot of fun.
